1. Describe your chatting experiences with your peers. (40%)

The age of the “global village” has already arrived. Wherever you are, have the internet people no connecting problem. Chat room is an opening space that you can make friends from every place in the world. According to your hobby, you also can search people who have the same hobby with you then chat together. Some chat room you just need to key in your name, sex, and ages then you can get in, but others should be their members. At the beginning, you have to fill up a personal profile including name, sex, ages, address, telephone number then set up a id. Be careful the register for a free trial membership, you have to read the agreement carefully – sometimes if you don’t cancel before your trial ends, they will send you a bill. After enter, you can see how many people online in this chat room and also can see different sex, ages people chat each other. In fact, the topic everyone chatted is almost the same. For example, the lovelorn people will share the experience of failure in love with someone who has similar problems; some people like outdoor activities with find the same hobby. Most only have text boxes for messages, but chat rooms that support voice and video chat are the best, if you have the right hardware and software that is! The final ambition is to know new friends and extend their circle of friends. If people can’t find a chat room they like, they can create one of their own. You set up your own online community. I think this is fantastic and more people should do the same. In recent years, some people use the internet to do lawless practices like to offer body for sale or committed a high crime in groups, but no one can skipped off the net of justice because now have the internet officer to maintain the order of society. The internet officer is omnipresence, because sometimes they will pretend a normal people then chat with you for making sure you have lawless behavior or not. I think chat rooms are good for practicing English in real time - that's when everyone is online and "talking" at the same time as you. I like expressing my feelings with those cute emoticons, too. If you only talk about your family, the weather, sport, school subjects and other small talk topics, I think they are amusing and harmless. People captivated by chat room, but remember don’t give up to meet real people in real-life.

2. Describe your blogs and your blogging experiences. (60%)

Hi, I am Vivian. Today I am going to introduce my blog to you. As you can see I have changed my background and added the background music. In the man page you can see my group members, some link like google news, Taiwan Yahoo and our school website TA TWA; then you can see my best friends including Anna, Melissa, Doris and Angeline, you can link to their albums; there is a very cute cherry clock and you also can link to the website to change other shape of clock; next are some posts.

Now I will show some posts to you.

First, in this post (9/13) the picture is my nephew and I at Lavender Forest in Hsinchu County.

Second is online dictionary (9/13), you can check words’ meaning here.

Third are ESL/EFL online resources, the most special is 3.Acquisition of Vocabulary, International Bilingual Education because when you move the mouse on a word the Japanese meaning will show together.

Forth is NBC news about“Why dose eating feel sl good？It is in your head”

Fifth is movie trailer－Paris,jet’aime（in English means“Paris I love you”）

Sixth is my favorite music－Everytime song by Britney Jean Spears, and the lyric is showed below.

Seventh is Hot Potatoes, teacher use this software to teach us use J Close to create a online test of vocabulary.

Eighth is blog reflection. In this semester, I learn some skill about how to build a blog and how let your blog become more beauty. Teacher also rain up our English ability. Weblog is a good space to share our information, music, picture and diary.

Ninth is chat room that we use msn to talking about our homework, music, favorite singer, etc.

Tenth is a video tape named dancing woman, the leading role is Doris.
In my blog I must be recommended to browse my best friends album and see the funny video tape.

After seeing many people’s blog, I found that everyone spent lots of time to arrange and decorate their blog. Some people will add the background music on blog, the other will share their photos or some short film on blog. Others will apply for the counter to account how many people visited their blog or added some flash animation. Most people will change their background picture because the origin background picture is very inanimate. In fact, there are many function wait us to find out like you can add a cute clock or change the pointer of mouse or use a navigation bar to organize your hyperlinks to others pages or add an advertisement helps shopper to sell goods…,etc. Whatever you want, just remember don’t use a lot of graphics, animations and text your blog will be too busy. In this semester, I learned a lot of skill to create my own blog and also learned English. I think chat rooms are good for practicing English in real time too. Before this class, I don’t know the proper noun of computer or web pages in English I only use Chinese edition, but now I can use the English edition too, that accredit this class – Internet English.
